Reporting directly to the DoO, the plant manager is specifically responsible for deploying and implementing organization improvement strategies as outlined while taking the lead as the head of the production facility. The successful candidate will have the following skillsets:
Develop and execute innovative business plans that drive growth and efficiency in areas of accountability.
· Build, develop and lead a strong, progressive team to ensure continual growth of the assigned business unit.
· Implement and maintain plant operations, reporting on performance, and developing and initiating process improvements to optimize efficiency and quality.
· Guide the management team in developing solutions for improving processes, maintaining facilities, and innovative problem-solving.
· Provide coaching, mentorship, and management support to the current Production Line Supervisors and Line Leaders to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
· Cultivate an environment of change and install a sense of accountability throughout the departments with an influential management style.
· Develop and improve processes, procedures, and efficiency with a strong understanding of industry best practices.

Core Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in meat processing operations management with a focus on efficiency, quality, and safety in a Canadian context in small to medium size food manufacturer.
· Strong understanding of Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations and compliance requirements.
· Experience with HACCP, GMP, and SSOP programs in accordance with Canadian standards.
· Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in meat processing in Canada.
· Six Sigma green or black belt certification.
· Proven ability to develop and manage a team of supervisors, line leaders, and other staff in a Canadian workplace environment.
· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in Canada.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and solve complex issues within the Canadian meat processing industry.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety and quality in Canada.
· Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems used in Canada.

Job Description – Millwright (Full-Time) | Location: Brampton, Ontario | Department: Maintenance | Reports To: Maintenance Manager | Schedule: Full-Time (M-F / Day or Afternoon)
Position Summary
The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems within a fast-paced consumer food manufacturing environment. This role ensures the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, mechanically strong, and comfortable working with a wide range of processing and packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair
Perform mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production equipment such as conveyors, mixers, grinders, pumps, packaging machines, and other food-processing equipment.
Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
Install, align, and test machinery and mechanical components according to manufacturer specifications.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Execute preventive maintenance schedules and document work performed.
Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
Participate in predictive maintenance activities (vibration analysis, condition monitoring, lubrication standards).
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all work meets plant safety standards and complies with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP).
Maintain clean work areas to prevent contamination and ensure audit readiness.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with production, sanitation, and QA teams to reduce downtime and support continuous improvement.
Complete accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in equipment upgrades or process improvements.
Education & Certifications
Millwright Certification (433A) or equivalent – Industrial Mechanic
Additional training in welding, machining, pneumatics, or hydraulics considered an asset.
Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Experience
Three+ years of millwright or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or CPG preferred).
Strong troubleshooting skills with packaging, processing, or conveyor equipment.
Technical Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Skilled in mechanical assembly, alignment, precision measuring, and machine rebuilding.
Basic knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems (not required but an asset).
Experience with welding and fabrication is beneficial.
Key Competencies

Ability to work independently and under pressure during equipment breakdowns.

Position Overview
Sierra Custom Foods (a div. of Amir Group of Companies) is seeking a licensed Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance & Facilities team at our further poultry processing facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems throughout our high-volume, food-grade manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring maximum equipment uptime, regulatory compliance, and the safety of all employees.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Repair
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including motors, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, panel boards, and distribution equipment up to 600V.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all electrical equipment to minimize unplanned downtime on production lines.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Respond promptly to production breakdowns and emergency electrical failures during all shifts, including on-call situations.
- Maintain, program, and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and HMI systems.
Food Processing Environment Compliance
- Ensure all electrical work meets food-grade sanitation standards, including appropriate enclosure ratings (NEMA 4X/IP66+) for wet and washdown environments.
- Follow CFIA, HACCP, and GMP requirements pertaining to electrical maintenance and installations.
- Participate in sanitation and hygiene protocols relevant to work in processing and evisceration areas.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to support food safety audits and regulatory inspections (CFIA, BRC, SQF).
Installation & Projects
- Install new electrical equipment and infrastructure to support plant expansions, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform conduit bending, pulling wire, and terminating connections for new and modified circuits.
- Work with contractors and project managers to ensure installations comply with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and CSA standards.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Adhere to and champion Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) regulations and Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Implement and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for all maintenance activities involving hazardous energy.
- Perform arc flash assessments and ensure appropriate PPE is used when working on or near live electrical equipment.
- Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and investigations of electrical-related incidents or near-misses.
- Maintain all work orders, inspection records, and electrical documentation in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Valid 442A Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (Journeyperson) issued by the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT).
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-certification experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with 3-phase power distribution, motor controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems.
- Experience with DSI machines is an asset
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and applicable CSA standards.
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc flash safety.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in cold/wet environments.
Preferred
- Experience in a food processing, meat processing, or similarly regulated environment (CFIA/HACCP exposure is a strong asset).
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems (ammonia/Freon) and integration with electrical controls.
- Must be fluent in English
Working Conditions
This position operates in an active food processing facility. The successful candidate will regularly be exposed to:
- Cold and wet environments (processing areas range from 0 C to 4°C; freezer areas below -18°C).
- High-noise industrial equipment — hearing protection required in designated areas.
- Live electrical panels and high-voltage equipment requiring appropriate arc flash PPE.
- Rotating shift work, including days, afternoons, weekends (if necessary)
- On-call responsibilities for after-hours emergency breakdowns.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety footwear (CSA-approved), cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses.
